I can breathe now. We all survived the first day of school. Only kindergarten tears after noticing that he misplaced his lunch box when it was time to go home. His teacher called and let us know Brandon put it in another child's backpack that's identical to his. Crisis over!
Damian did great and I even got an update from the inclusion specialist at school. She already went in to observe him and they will do that 45 minutes a day until his next interim IEP in August. I think we're in good hands. She reported Damian was adjusting well in class.
This part was hard for me. Watching him walk away and getting ready to start a new school year without the familiar teachers and friends.
The remaining kids and I were bored at first! So we lounged around and were silly!
I'm sure we'll find things to do like clean the house, eat popsicles non-stop and enjoy the silence without any fighting over video games.
