We have a few places we always go to that are amazing but this year our joyous daughter was being Miss Independent as usual and was howling most of the way so it wasn't AS enjoyable as it could've been this year.
Before the storm. Max is pretending to be asleep and Eric looks sooo happy!
We made our Xmas cookies last night and I'm still stepping on sprinkles and Red Hots.
Sprinkle OD
sneaking bites
his grand appearance in the wife beater
Damian's creation at school
ON ANOTHER NOTE.......
We're off to an appt. for Damian with the behavioral pediatrician we saw earlier this year. I'm hoping he can accompany us at our IEP meeting because he does that regularly. I'm anxious to see what he says about his recent assessments and how I can get the appropriate services for Damian at school.
I'd like to report that Damian got his first progress report with grades and he got all A's and B's. This is great but then it's not because his school looks at academics before the social and emotional part or the sensory part of his disorder. It will be tough in March to convince them I think.
I observed Damian in class again last week and he was with his para educator. He raised his hand during the story and shared what part he liked. I was so happy when I saw this. I also saw again where he was lost when it came to the questions about the story or re-telling parts in it.
His para also sent a note to me in his communication folder that he initiated a conservation with a classmate and it went back and forth!!!!
So say a prayer along with me if you can that we will get support from this doctor today to help pave the way to a happy and joyful life for Damian!
