For obvious reasons.
Troy said I'm softer around the edges so that's probably why they want me to do home work with them. I have a lot more patience when it comes to Damian I must say. It may take a tad longer but I like to make homework fun while they are learning.
Last night Max wanted to do homework which his OT wants him to do usually. Just working on our grasp with pencils, bigger and smaller shapes and so on.
Then Mila wants her work too.
So I dragged my scrapbook table over (more reason babe to buy me a new one!) and set up my classroom. And I loved the feel of it and I loved all the chattering about division, letters and all the praise we give them.
Troy told me last night that he would want to home-school them if certain beliefs and subjects were introduced in the public school system. I wholeheartedly agree. Unfortunately our society is leaning that way and we don't want out children exposed to it in school.
Private schools are not an option for obvious financial reasons but more for the fact that they do not have access to all the services that they need for their education.
I support public schools and I think there are great ones in our district. But if they start steering in the other direction of our beliefs then we have no choice.
Having my husband's support and on board with me is such a blessing.
Of course all I could think about was all the custom desks and shelving and organization I could do in the family room!
But for now this is all we could do in our classroom.

great idea, I do agree the setting and them having their own desk or designated area would be a good way to help them feel more motivated for home work. I know what you mean about school and the risks and benefits.
