updates on D!

Well we're still waiting for another doc appt. this month to finish any testing that I wanted. I also have another IEP meeting coming soon and we are going to ask for RSP services to help with his oral and written comprehension. They also are sending their "doctor" out there to observe Damian while in class. This is to confirm or rule out the possibility of autism. He has a tentative diagnosis but I want it from a real doctor, not a family therapist. His RSP teacher has a Asperger's child who is 19 now and it was nice to share stories and get some advice from someone who has been there.

I've learned that whether you have gone through it yourself, you can't really relate to what we go through and feel but I still will be open about talking to anyone and everyone who is curious and may need to know why our children need the things they do or act the way they do. I really educated myself and I don't know nearly enough but it feels good to know I'm on the right path finally after 7 years.

Maxie is turning 3 on Friday!! Bittersweet because Alta is bootin' him out and sending us to the district for services! We offered Incredible John's, Chuck E Cheese, whatever to celebrate and Damian picked Mickey D's Play Place on Laguna. Thanks Damian.

Max is doing good with his occupational therapy. He loves crashing and having beanbags piled on him. I will be stalking Walmarts to load up on them! He still has frequent outbursts which are to be expected and we're working on those the best we can. They have the sppech eval. done so we'll see on Friday if he qualifies. Since they didn't call me I'm wondering if he doesn't.

Well it's 4:00 p.m. and I h ave no plans for dinner yet! Since we're being more frugal..well I'm trying to be more CREATIVE, I'll raid the freezer.
