our share of animals and trains

My family and I do not travel as a group fairly often. We decided that needed to change.

For me it was trying my hardest to ignore the stares when one of my children would get worked up. The ignorance of some people was something I wasn't ready to handle on most days. Not everyone is educated on kids with special needs..understandable. But keep your comments and looks to yourself please :)

I'm no stranger to curious looks and snickers but it gets old after awhile.

So...I grabbed the chance to take the kids somewhere that we wouldn't be judged. Someplace we could feel comfortable and welcomed.

Enter Dreamnight at the Zoo! An event for families like ours. Special families.

Plus it was free. Can't ever pass that up.

It's always worth it for my little bunch!

I asked one favor and it was for Troy to take a photo of Mila feeding the giraffe. Where is Mila??

looking at the bird that Eric says sounds like me.

Eric watching the magic show next to this huge guy

When music comes on my kids break out in their own dances. Damian's favorite is the robot with the broken arm

Thank you Eric for cutting my whole body out..you DO listen to me!

They had so much fun running around collecting goodies for their bags, finding Zooboomafoo and all the Madagascar characters. Except Gloria. We miss her.

We saw some kids from their school and some from Max's O.T. It was a great event and I hope we can go again.

2 places in a week? We must be crazy. We had planned the train museum last weekend but the Jazz festival was down and I was not going to fight for parking. So today it was.

Eric was a little tired from SAT's since 7:45 this morning

having our little talk about no running in the trains. It worked.

the button pushing was the highlight of the trip. Max had been talking about it for weeks.

the train tables was a big one too for Max and Mila. Mila was loading one of the volunteers up with all of the houses and trains. This poor old man was looking at her like she was crazy. My daughter will be anyone's friend. It's scary.

So we survived and the kids had a blast. We will always have our moments and our hands full but as long as we have fun together that's all that matters to me.

I always have a pocketful of my own looks and comments ;)

So glad you guys all had such a great time. Building memories for your children is what it is all about! They never forget the places you take them and the time you spend with them. And everyone looks so happy!! I love to see it!!
